Lego Hero Factory: Hot Toys This Christmas

in Gifts for Kids

Move over Bionices, Lego Hero Factory is here! This is the new range of buildable action figures from Lego and the story is far easier for parents to understand than it was with Bionicles – phew! It is actually a good idea too – shame that it’s only fiction. To summarise, once you child receives their new Hero kit, they get a pretend call from someone in distress. Then, being in charge of the Hero Factory, they get to design and build their robot hero and send him/her off to fight the baddie who is causing all the trouble.

There are 15 building kits in this new range that is tipped for greatness this Christmas. Six are heroes, six are baddies and there are a few vehicles to complete the series. The range is such that it is suitable for all ages from 6 up as there are various sizes of kit – those with the most pieces are obviously the hardest. They start with only 17 pieces for some of the popular hero characters and build up to nearly 400 pieces for the star ship cruiser that delivers the heroes to wherever they need to be. There are two sets of heroes – three in the Alpha team and three rookies who are in training. There are then various baddies, that all have great alien forms including two medium sized baddie kits to create larger scale danger in role playing scenarios.

As these kits are made by Lego, you know as a parent that you are getting a well designed and durable product. The colors are bright and appealing, the weapons are interesting and the figures move and stand in their posed positions well. They look very much like Bionicles but this doesn’t seem to stop kids wanting them. In fact, if you have a Bionicles fan, they are sure to love this new Lego Hero Factory range. Just make sure you buy a kit that is appropriately aged for your child so that it is neither too easy nor too hard for them. Then just sit back and enjoy watching them have hours of fun building and playing with their new set of heroes.
